Laurie Holloway live at the Heath - 2009
A Hit!
The musical evening staged by the volunteer North Hampshire Fundraising Committee, Macmillan Cancer Support on Saturday, October 24th at The Church on the Heath, was a stunning success - sell-out audience, amazingly generous raffle and auction prizes from donors, lovely venue and a hugely enjoyable cross-section of musical styles.
The Laurie Holloway Trio and singers Kenny Lynch, Becki Biggins, Jeremy Finch and Shola Hector covered music from the shows, popular standards and jazz.
Many feet tapped enthusiastically! Most importantly Macmillan's funds have been swelled by £6,000, a brilliant result.

Summer Music Picnic - 2008
For the second year Ellington @ Wellington held its Summer Music Picnic in a lovely leafy setting on The Duke of Wellington's estate in North Hampshire, together producing over £10,000 in the first two years for the wonderful and vital work carried out by Macmillan Cancer Support.
Musical director to the stars and brilliant pianist Laurie Holloway topped the bill, backed up by Kenny Lynch, Becki Biggins and a broad array of other performers.
Have a look through our Website at what's gone before and what's coming up, and see how you can help or support this fantastic cause. Every penny to help support the one in three of us whose lives are affected by cancer really counts.
See you in 2009!

Jazzing it up for Macmillan! - 2007
Macmillan’ open-air jazz concert was hugely enjoyed by an enthusiastic crowd at Wellington Riding, Heckfield, raising over £5,500. The whole amount will be used to support people affected by cancer - the generosity of venue provider the Duke of Wellington’s Stratfield Saye estate, main sponsors McCarthy Holden Estate Agency and Fuller’s Brewery, other sponsors and donors covered all costs.
Amongst many highlights the Gallani family of Basingstoke arrived on cue, after cycling 100 fundraising miles from Bristol. Malcolm Gallani’s wife had been greatly helped by Macmillan. Deputy Mayor of Basingstoke & Deane, Councillor George Hood, was delighted to greet them.
People picnicked or enjoyed the hog roast or both! A free beer for all eligible was much appreciated. The young steel pan performers of Sounds of Steel wowed the crowd. The Barberettes, feisty lady barbershop singers, charmed the listeners. The Apex Jazz Band provided catchy traditional jazz.
And bill-topping The Chosen Few Jazz Orchestra, headed by Bill Castle, gave a stunning swing and jazz performance leading in, with split-second timing, to the spectacular fireworks finale.
